Calling all Authors

Have you enjoyed reading Destinations over the years?

Do you have a story to tell? GOS is always looking for new articles to share with our community.  If you have moved oversees with work, or returned home after years abroad, we would like to hear about the culture, the changes and the challenges you experienced.

If you have an idea or an article you would like to write please contact Anna from the GOS team, we can discuss the topic, your approach and how long the piece should be.

Thanks for your stories and your support!

Trinidad & Tobago

Debbie Marty describes the country and the challenges her family encountered on assignment to Trinidad and Tobago. The article highlights how it is possible to be surprised by a situation even after researching extensively.

Debbie’s experience speaks to the purpose of Outpost. We know that the Outpost organisation originated from a need to address the issues an accompanying partner or family face when moving aboard on a work assignment.

In Debbie’s case there was no Outpost to ask and although she herself worked for the Outpost organisation it takes time to gather all information, how do you know if you have missed something? Even in todays connected, google using society, being able to tap into all that knowledge in one place is a valuable resource which can make a positive difference to a persons actual experience.

Outpost Port of Spain began in Q1 of 2018, at the time of writing  the Focal point (Takys), is working hard supporting the community in Trinidad and Tobago and bringing together the experiences of the community to share on this website. I look forward to posting an update in the near future.

Article 2 The Plastic Inconvenience

Our use of plastic increases daily around the globe.  The onus appears to be on the consumer to manage their consumption, is this fair?
